CloseToWater

Lieder, Holzarbeiten und Draußenmomente, inspiriert von Wellenrauschen, Lagerfeuerknistern und der Sehnsucht nach ruhigen, echten Augenblicken.

A close-up of a traditional wooden nyckelharpa’s carved headstock and keys resting on a thick wool blanket atop smooth waterside rocks. The instrument’s warm amber varnish reveals intricate wood grain, while the keys show slight wear on their edges. Next to it, a small leather-bound notebook lies open, its creamy pages filled with faint handwritten music notation, fluttering slightly in a gentle breeze. The scene is bathed in cool, diffused evening light as the sun dips behind distant hills, giving the lake a slate-blue sheen. Photographic realism with a low, intimate camera angle and shallow depth of field keeps the nyckelharpa crisply detailed as the shoreline and water dissolve softly, creating a reflective, poetic mood that suggests quiet composition time close to water.
A small campfire ring of rounded riverside stones glows gently on a sandy shore at blue hour, with a hand-built wooden frame stool standing nearby. Resting across the stool is a slender, dark-stained fiddle, its fine curves reflecting the fire’s orange flicker. A simple enamel mug sits on the sand, catching both firelight and the faint cool reflection of the nearby water. The lake itself is a smooth, deep indigo plane disappearing into soft darkness. Photographic realism with a low-angle composition that keeps the fiddle and flames in sharp focus while the water recedes into a velvety blur. The interplay of warm firelight and cool ambient twilight creates a contemplative, intimate atmosphere of handmade music on the water’s edge.

A minimalist, overhead photographic view of a weathered pine tabletop arranged with objects of folkmusic and outdoor life: a compact wooden travel dulcimer, a small brass compass with a gently tarnished lid, a folded topo map showing winding river lines, and a coil of natural fiber rope. The dulcimer’s strings catch soft morning light from an unseen nearby window, creating fine linear reflections, while the map’s surface shows subtle creases and muted earth-tone colors. Shadows are soft and controlled, suggesting an overcast sky or diffused studio lighting. The composition uses calm negative space and precise alignment, with sharp focus across the frame, crafting a sophisticated yet understated visual story about hand-built music, navigation, and adventure near rivers and lakes.
